Summary
This position is located at West Point Club. Incentives will not be paid. Initial Cut-Off Date: Tuesday, January 27, 2026 (applications must be received by 11:59 PM EST). Applications received by the Initial Cut-Off Date may be referred to the Selecting Official prior to the closing date, with subsequent referrals every two weeks thereafter based on management's need to fill positions.

Duties
- Sets up bars for operation, obtains cash bank and stocks service bar. Assures an adequate stock level is maintained and sets up storeroom and work area to permit easy access to stock items.
- Prepares a limited variety of simple alcoholic beverages as requested by patrons and wait staff.
- Records sales and makes change or prepares charge slips. Keeps bar and work area clean and sanitary.
- Identifies persons who become unruly or who appear intoxicated, resolves the problem or seeks assistance in accordance with established procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Conditions of Employment

- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- A Medical Examination is required; physical effort includes regularly lifting and carrying items weighing up to 20 pounds, occasionally up to 40 pounds, and standing for prolonged periods.
- This position is dual compensation exempt; all GS and NAF employees, whether full time or part time, are eligible to apply.
- Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours of initial food sanitation and safety training within 30 days of employment and 4 hours annual refresher training.
- Work hours may involve weekday, weekend, holiday and night duty.
- This position is eligible to receive gratuities (tips) based on the type of event(s) and performance.
Qualifications
Resumes must be two pages (or less) and should clearly demonstrate relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities. A qualified candidate must possess the following:
- Meet state/local age requirements for the serving of alcoholic beverages at the time of appointment.
- Be able to lift and carry weights up to 20 pounds.
- Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory.
- Skill in mixing and serving alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.
Skill and Knowledge: Skill in mixing drinks using alcoholic beverages, beer and soda; applies arithmetic in calculating bills and making change; ability to recognize intoxicated and unruly patrons.
Highly Preferred/Best Qualified: Prior experience working as a full-service bartender in a restaurant and/or catering facility (must be reflected on your resume). Applicants meeting the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred first to the Selecting Official.

Additional Information
- Candidates with Special Qualifying Skills and Experience may be brought in higher than the Step 1 rate of pay, determined by the Hiring Manager. Most individuals will be brought in at the Step 1 rate of $19.27 per hour.
- Area of Consideration: within a 75-mile radius of West Point, NY. Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included.

- This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system; FWS employees earn overtime pay and may receive Sunday premium pay and night differential. Non-foreign overseas allowances, COLA, and differentials will not be paid.
