Summary

This position is located at Grant Hall, Directorate of Cadet Activities, U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Incentives will not be paid.

Duties

  • Cleans rooms, corridors, stairways, and other areas.
  • Operates industrial equipment to clean rugs, drapes, etc.
  • Cleans, disinfects and deodorizes toilet facilities.
  • Sweeps, mops, vacuums, scrubs, strips and polishes using light and heavy duty powered equipment.
  • Washes walls, windows, blinds and ceiling fixtures using ladders, scaffolds and safety belt.

  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Appointment subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3.
  • Must meet the physical requirements of the position.
  • Must be willing to accept a varying or rotating shift to include evenings, weekends and holidays (this business operates between the hours of 2:30PM and 10:30PM).

Qualifications

Resumes must be two pages (or less) and should clearly demonstrate relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities. A qualified candidate must possess the knowledge, skills and ability to perform the duties listed above, including the ability to use and maintain the tools and equipment of the trade, to keep the assigned work area neat and clean, and to communicate both orally and in writing.

Skills and Knowledge: Must have the ability to follow instructions and read signs; a basic knowledge of common cleaning solvents, cleaning tools, and equipment; knowledge of the proper uses of a variety of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions; the ability to remove different kinds of stains from a wide variety of surfaces; and the ability to troubleshoot, make adjustments, and perform minor repair and maintenance of equipment.

Additional Information

  • Initial Cut-Off Date: Wednesday, January 28th, 2026 (applications must be received by 11:59 PM EST). Applications received by the Initial Cut-Off Date may be referred to the Selecting Official prior to the closing date, with subsequent referrals every two weeks thereafter.
  • Area of Consideration: US Citizens and Non-Citizens within 50 miles of West Point, NY. Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included.
  • Manual applications must be delivered to the West Point NAF CPAC (681 Rogers Place Room G-10, West Point, NY 10996), Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., no later than 3:00 p.m. on the closing date. West Point has a restricted access policy.
  • Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized.
  • This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system; FWS employees earn overtime pay and may receive Sunday premium pay and night differential. Non-foreign overseas allowances, COLA, and differentials will not be paid.
  • Your application remains valid for 90 days and may be referred to hiring officials as new vacancies arise.
  • Individuals will be brought in at the Step 5 rate of pay ($21.45 per hour). NAF pay setting rules apply.
