This position is located at Fort Leavenworth FMWR Custodial Services. Clarification from the agency: United States (U.S.) Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.
Duties
- Cleans, empties trash, dusts, disinfects, and deodorizes rooms, corridors, stairways, toilet facilities and other areas.
- Sweeps, mops, vacuums, scrubs, strips and polishes using light and heavy duty powered equipment.
- Operates industrial equipment to clean rugs, drapes, etc., moving furniture when necessary; performs routine maintenance of equipment.
- Washes walls, windows, blinds and ceiling fixtures using ladders, scaffolds and safety belt; maintains stock of room and cleaning supplies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Conditions of Employment
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Appointment subject to favorable suitability determination and satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para. 2.
- May be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
- Must meet the physical requirements of the position — able to stand and walk on hard and carpeted surfaces with some bending, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of items or carts weighing 20 to 40 pounds, and occasionally over 50 pounds.
- Willing to accept an Intermittent or Flexible appointment.
- Possess a valid Driver's License, or be able to obtain one by entrance on duty.
- Schedule is based on the needs of the activity — must be able and willing to work during the hours of 6:00pm and 2:30am and some weekends.

- Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized.
- This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system; FWS employees earn overtime for working more than 8 hours in a day or 40 in a week, and may receive Sunday premium pay and night differential.
- Non-foreign overseas allowances, COLA, and differentials will not be paid.
