CYS Program Associate Homework Lab NF-03
Summary
This position is located at Fort Sill, OK.
Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee: CYS Regular and FLEX employees (working a minimum of 15 hours per week) receive a 100% childcare fee discount for the first child and a 25% discount for second and subsequent children.
Duties
- Performs duties under the verbal and written direction of the facility director. Work is reviewed in terms of results achieved IAW standards and procedures.
- Responsible for the operation of the Child and Youth Services (CYS) Homework Center in accordance with applicable regulations. As part of the on-ratio staff, provides assistance to participants in strengthening their academic and learning skills.
- Develops linkages with parents, School Liaison Officer, other CYS Program Associates and volunteer tutors to ensure the homework center is fully integrated into all applicable program settings.
- Plans, coordinates, and conducts activities for program participants based on observed needs of individual children/youth. Models appropriate behaviors and techniques for working with children/youth.
- Works with senior staff to provide instruction and training to lower level employees. Provides input to CYS training plan based on observed training needs. Secures supplies, equipment, and facilities.
Conditions of Employment

- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2, to include a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
- The Crime Control Act must be successfully completed and maintained. A health assessment is also required.
- Satisfactory performance, successful completion of training requirements, and demonstrated on-the-job competency is required.
- Immunizations may be required as a condition of employment.
- Must be at least 18 years of age at time of employment.
Qualifications
Resumes must be two pages (or less) and should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities.
A qualified candidate must possess:
- A high school diploma or GED certificate.
- Ability to communicate in English (both written and verbal).
- Be 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
- The physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, stoop and stand on a routine basis.
- Health and freedom from communicable disease.
- A CDA/School-Age/Youth Credential (including Boys and Girls Clubs of America)/Army Youth Practicum.
- 12 months of experience working in a related field.
OR
- A BA/BS degree with a major emphasis on ECE, Elementary Education, Child Development, Home Economics, Special Education or a related field.
- Work experience directly related to the duties to be performed.
- Ability to communicate in English; be 18 years of age; the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs; and health and freedom from communicable disease.
Education
Proof of education is required at the time of application. Education must be directly related to the position to be filled. General Education courses do not count toward the credit total. Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Allowances and Differentials: This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. Non-foreign overseas allowances, COLA, and differentials will not be paid.
