Summary
This position is located at Grant Hall, Directorate of Cadet Activities, U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Incentives will not be paid.

Clarification from the agency: United States (U.S.) Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.
Duties
- Prepares and serves food items which include, but are not limited to, hot dogs, nachos, chips, candy, and lemonade drinks.
- Maintains related cash records.
- Keeps work area clean and orderly.
- Collects sales slips, totals sales on cash register, accepts payment from patrons and makes change as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Conditions of Employment
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Medical examination is required.
- This position is dual compensation exempt; all GS and NAF employees, whether full time or part time, are eligible to apply.
- Must be willing to accept a varying or rotating shift to include nights, weekends and holidays.
- Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training within 30 days of employment and 4 hours refresher training annually.
Qualifications
Resumes must be two pages (or less) and should clearly demonstrate relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities. A qualified candidate must possess the following:
- Be able to lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds.
- Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory.
Skills and Knowledge: Able to work alone; know the proper use of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions; know simple food handling techniques; able to work safely; able to serve uniform individual portions and avoid distractions when several guests ask for different items at the same time; able to use simple arithmetic.

Additional Information
- Initial Cut-Off Date: Wednesday, January 28th, 2026 (applications must be received by 11:59 PM EST). Applications received by the Initial Cut-Off Date may be referred to the Selecting Official prior to the closing date, with subsequent referrals every two weeks thereafter.
- Area of Consideration: US Citizens and Non-Citizens residing within a 50-mile radius of West Point, NY. Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included.

- This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system; FWS employees earn overtime pay and may receive Sunday premium pay and night differential. Non-foreign overseas allowances, COLA, and differentials will not be paid.

- Most individuals will be brought in at the Step 1 rate of pay ($17.52 per hour). NAF pay setting rules apply.
