Food and Beverage Attendant NA-01
Summary
This position is located at Jefferson Cafe (Grant Hall).
Incentives and Bonuses: Incentives will not be paid.
Duties
- Prepares and serves food items which include, but are not limited to, hot dogs, nachos, chips, candy, lemonade drinks, etc.
- Maintains related cash records.
- Keeps work area clean and orderly.
- Collects sales slips, total sales on cash register, accepts payment from patrons and makes change as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Conditions of Employment
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Medical examination is required.
- This position is dual compensation exempt; All GS and NAF employees whether full time or part time are eligible to apply for this position.
- Must be willing to accept a varying or rotating shift to include nights, weekends and holidays.
- Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.

A qualified candidate must possess the following:
- Be able to lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds.
- Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory.
Skills and Knowledge: Able to work alone. Know the proper use of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions. Know simple food handling techniques. Able to work safely. Able to serve uniform individual portions and avoid distractions when several guests ask for different items at the same time. Able to use simple arithmetic.

Additional Information
Initial Cut-Off Date: Wednesday, January 28th, 2026 (Applications must be received by 11:59 PM EST). Allowances and Differentials: This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM. Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
