Food and Beverage Attendant (Snack Bar) NA-02
Summary
This position is located at the Peak but may fill other vacancies in the Business Recreation Division at Fort Drum, New York. It is with the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR), which includes Child and Youth Services, Business Recreation, and Support Services. Incentives will NOT be paid.

Duties
- Prepares a variety of short-order fast food items, slices vegetables, and serves food and alcoholic beverages to patrons. May also operate a mobile food cart for deliveries.
- Takes customer orders, operates a cash register, accepts cash and charge payments, and completes a daily cash report at the end of each shift.
- Maintains the cleanliness of all work areas, including tables, floors, walls, and equipment, while following all safety and housekeeping rules.
- Orders food items and supplies, receives and properly stores deliveries, and coordinates food and beverage needs for special events.
Conditions of Employment
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Light to heavy physical effort is required; frequently lifts and moves objects weighing up to 40 pounds, occasionally lifting and carrying up to 45 pounds.
- Requirements to walk, stoop, bend, pull, push, and reach frequently and to stand for long periods of time. May be required to work on ladders and use power cleaning equipment.
- May be exposed to hot liquids, sharp cutting blades, hot working surfaces, and extreme temperature changes.
- Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training within 30 days of employment and 4 hours refresher training annually.
- Must meet state/local age requirements at the time of appointment if serving alcoholic beverages.
- This position requires a favorably adjudicated T1/NACI background investigation.
- A physical examination, arranged by the employer, is required prior to employment.
- Must be willing to accept intermittent, on-call employment. Work schedule will be irregular, including nights, weekends, holidays, and/or unique events.
Qualifications
Resumes must be two pages (or less) and should clearly demonstrate relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities. A qualified candidate must possess the following:
- Meet state/local age (18) requirements for the serving of alcoholic beverages by the projected appointment date of 1/29/2026.
- Ability to work without more than normal supervision.
- Ability to keep your work area clean, neat and in order.
- Experience applying basic food preparation and handling techniques.
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Familiarity with basic sanitization principles.
- Ability to use and maintain kitchen tools and equipment.
- Ability to stand, stoop, bend, pull, push and reach for long periods of time.
- Ability to regularly lift and move items weighing up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 45 pounds.

This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
