Summary
This position is with Child and Youth Services (CYS) at Redstone Arsenal. MWR CYS employees receive a childcare fee discount: first child 100% discount and second/subsequent children at least 25% discount (available to Regular and FLEX employees working a minimum of 15 hours).

Duties
- Develops and follows efficient, consistent and safe bus routes for routine trips (e.g., to and from school) to minimize transportation time.
- Ensures the safety and well-being of children, youth and adults being transported to and from the program and on field trips.
- Practices bus evacuation following prescribed procedures with children and youth on a monthly basis.
- Arranges for and ensures completion of routine maintenance of the bus (e.g., oil change), transporting the bus to and from maintenance facilities.
- Completes a comprehensive written inspection of the bus daily, reporting any concerns to the supervisor before transporting children/youth.
Conditions of Employment

- Must be at least 18 years of age at time of appointment.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation is required.
- Must have current health assessment documenting good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations IAW current Army and DoD policy, including annual influenza vaccinations.
- Schedule includes irregular hours, evenings, and/or weekends; duties involve working both indoors and outdoors.
- This position requires mandatory drug testing.
- This position requires mandated reporting of all suspected incidents of child abuse/neglect.
- The physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, stoop, and stand on a routine basis is required.
- The appropriate driver's license must be valid and current.
Qualifications
Resumes must be two pages (or less) and should clearly demonstrate relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities. A qualified candidate must possess the following:
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
- Ability to communicate in English at a level to assure the duties can be accomplished in a safe and satisfactory manner.
- Experience in accomplishing the types of duties described in this job.
- A valid state driver's license to operate a 15 passenger vehicle.
