Operations Assistant NF-02

Summary

This position is located at The Peak & Pine Plains Bowling Center with the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum. FMWR provides essential support services, including child and youth programs and recreational activities that contribute to Soldier readiness and well-being. Incentives will NOT be paid.

Duties

  • Provides hands-on supervision of all restaurant operations, occasionally assisting with serving, hosting, or cooking to set the pace and ensure a smooth workflow during peak hours.
  • Enforces operational standards by ensuring staff follow established schedules, recipes, and procedures, while monitoring guest flow and service ticket times to maintain consistency.
  • Manages the guest experience by providing information, conducting table visits to ensure satisfaction, and maintaining order, seeking assistance from military police when necessary.
  • Handles administrative and financial duties, including overseeing cash and inventory, supervising employee timekeeping and performance reporting, and performing opening/closing security checks.

Conditions of Employment

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • This position requires a favorably adjudicated T1/NACI background investigation.
  • A food handler's certificate is required.
  • Work requires the ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • Work schedule will be irregular, including nights, weekends, holidays, and/or unique events.
  • A physical examination, arranged by the employer, is required prior to employment.
  • Must be willing to accept intermittent, on-call employment.

Qualifications

Resumes must be two pages (or less) and should clearly demonstrate relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities. A qualified candidate must possess the following:

  • Six (6) months of experience effectively working in a fast-paced food and beverage establishment, or be a current MWR Texas Roadhouse team member.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate.

This job does not have an education qualification requirement.

  • This is a Standing Register job announcement creating a pool of qualified applicants. Candidates will be referred to hiring officials as positions become available.   • This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday Premium and Night Differential pay have NOT been authorized for Flexible positions with no guaranteed hours. Non-foreign overseas allowances, COLA, and differentials will NOT be paid.
