PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (TITLE 32)

Summary

District of Columbia National Guard, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, DC. PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (TITLE 32), GS-1152-09.

Area III: All qualified candidates who are willing and eligible for military membership in the DCARNG.

THIS IS NOT A CIVILIAN POSITION. MILITARY MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.

Duties

This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the DC Army National Guard. Minimum Military Rank: E-1/PVC; Maximum Military Rank: E-7/SFC.

This position is located in the Joint Force Headquarters-State, Logistics Directorate (J-4/G-4), Surface Maintenance Facility. The purpose is to perform maintenance production management, achieve or maintain desired production levels, serve as an equipment readiness expert for units supported by the facility, and provide technical guidance and oversight to a lower-graded Production Controller.

  • Establish, plan and schedule for maintenance and repair, using multiple process production methods and procedures for a variety of vehicles and equipment.
  • Implement maintenance plans and monitor progress of accomplishments.
  • Prepare job work orders and schedule various phases of projects into the production facility.
  • Responsible for data input of work order information, status changes, supply updates, and other pertinent information.
  • Conduct initial and long range planning on matters which include multiple process production, maintenance operations, and equipment readiness.
  • Make on-the-spot adjustments to repair priorities necessitated by unscheduled maintenance requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. (PD Number NGD1255000.)

Conditions of Employment

  • National Guard Membership is required.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Must hold MOS: 92A.
  • Minimum Military Rank: E-1; Maximum Military Rank: E-7.

Qualifications

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military rank and assignment in the District of Columbia Army National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership in the military grade listed in this announcement.

Applicants who exceed the maximum military grade listed above must submit a statement in writing that they are willing to take an administrative reduction in grade to the advertised military grade. Resumes are limited to two pages.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which indicates the candidate can reason in quantitative terms, communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, and understand the terminology and data pertaining to repair operations and process characteristics of the production activity.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training scheduling workflow in more than one area and coordinating products or materials from support activities; performing or supervising journeyman level work in a production facility; preparing job or work orders; scheduling various phases of projects; following up on work progress and arranging adjustments in materials, machine processes, and work sequencing; and using current automation support programs to input data, provide status of equipment, monitor job order status and work priorities, requisition repair parts, and track repair parts status.

Education

There are no specific educational requirements for this position. Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

How You Will Be Evaluated

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies: knowledge of production control procedures and operations; supply procedures, maintenance operations and equipment reporting policies; production control, maintenance and supply management systems; and various types of equipment and capabilities of general purpose machine repair and special grades shops.
